About Tellington TTouch® & The British Isles Guild

Respectful practice, ongoing learning and a commitment to animal welfare

What Is Tellington TTouch®?

Tellington TTouch® is a gentle, respectful approach to working with animals through bodywork and groundwork that supports physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Founded by Linda Tellington-Jones in 1975, Tellington TTouch® uses specific touches, bodywork, movement exercises to help animals feel safer in their bodies, reduce stress, and improve balance and coordination.

The method has continued to grow and evolve through the work of instructors and practitioners, including co-founder Robyn Hood, Linda’s sister. These ongoing contributions have played a key role in shaping and developing Tellington TTouch® as a widely respected, welfare-led approach used across species worldwide.

What is the Tellington TTouch® British Isles Guild?

The Tellington TTouch® British Isles Guild exists to support, promote, and uphold the highest standards of Tellington TTouch® Method across the British Isles in accordance with the philosophy and values of Tellington TTouch® Inc.

We are committed to advancing animal welfare by ensuring that Tellington TTouch® is practised with integrity, skill, and a deep respect for the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of the animals and their people.

Central to the Guild’s ethos is a strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development. Our Practitioner and Student Practitioner Members meet specific Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements focused on Tellington TTouch® techniques, ensuring their knowledge remains current as the method continues to grow and evolve. This commitment to education helps maintain consistency, credibility, and excellence in practice.

The Guild is run by a committee of dedicated volunteers elected by the membership. Working collaboratively, the committee guides the Guild’s direction, policies, and initiatives, while representing the collective voice of its members.

Alongside this, the Guild fosters a supportive and inclusive community where practitioners can share knowledge, experiences, and resources, strengthening both individual practice and the visibility of Tellington TTouch® throughout the British Isles.

Whether it’s adapting the method to different Species, or adjusting techniques to suit various temperaments, Tellington TTouch® has something to offer.
